Shape forms for any need
No matter what sleeping position you like and what your needs are, Bon Repos can be shaped to suit you. It can be used as a neck roll, side sleep support, back sleep support, a pregnancy wedge, a butterfly pillow or almost any shape you can imagine and it always forms to match your contours even when you change positions.
Most pillows, made with premolded foam or other soft fillers, compress under the weight of the head and do not properly support the neck, contorting the muscles and tilting or twisting the cervical spine. This causes stress on the cervical nerve roots, muscles, joints and ligaments resulting in neck pain, headaches and poor sleep.
The Bon Repos pillow, with its hull filling, avoids these problems by constantly providing firm, uniform support to the head and neck, keeping the upper and lower cervical spine in a minimum stress position (normal cervical lordosis). Also the special shape of hull allows the pillow to move with you, while providing proper support in changing sleeping positions unlike other cervical pillows which work in only one or two positions or must be turned or flipped over.
Sleep tight with Bon Repos
You should adjust the size of the pillow so it is just right for you. The amount of filling in the pillow will determine the degree of support and positioning of your neck while you sleep. You can remove some filling from the pillow, this can be done easily through the zippered opening.
-Sleeping on your back is recommended for maximum benefit. Each time before sleeping or resting, make a nest or hollow for your head, working the materiel up close to your shoulders to fully support the neck. The goal is to lower your head and lift the neck. You may also want to position some material around the sides of your head or neck to reduce rolling.
-Sleeping on your side also works well with the Bon Repos pillow. Here the goal is to have the neck straight, with the head level with the spine.
-Sleeping on your stomach is the least desirable position since this can twist the neck causing stress on the cervical spine. Bon Repos can help you to find a better sleeping position.
Why buckwheat hulls ?
This natural material is used for several reasons. Most importantly because its special shape provides the correct firmness while also allowing reshaping. The non-allergenic buckwheat, which is not a wheat at all but actually related to rhubarb, is a hardy crop that is organically grown, and it is cleaned using an exclusive dry process without any chemicals. It breathes, and does not cause perspiration so it remains fresh, it stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and lasts indefinitely. You sleep naturally the way nature intended.
Care and cleaning
The natural buckwheat hulls have been specially selected, cleaned and encased in a 100% cotton openweave covering to give you one of the finest products available. During the first several weeks of regular use, a little buckwheat flour may work out of the pillow. This is normal for new pillow and will stop after a period of using it. Aerate your pillow at least once every year. Empty the pillow's content into a large bowl and let it sit in the sunlight. During this time, wash the pillow case like you usually wash your sheet. When it has dried, replace the buckwheat hulls inside and close it. Do not wash the buckwheat hulls, due to our climate, it will never dry.
